May 1 of this year marks the 10th anniversary of the passing of my good friend Rocky Dziepak.
It’s hard to believe that it has been that long. Life moves so fast. Sometimes it’s important to stop and celebrate those people in your life that have made a difference. Rocky made a huge difference in my life.
If it wasn't for Rocky, Cheryl and I would not have gone into real estate. Rocky mentored me for the first few months. In real estate, mentoring can make the difference between failure and success. Thirteen years later our real estate company is growing and flourishing. Thank you, buddy.

Who can forget the big bear hugs? The smiles. The Tootsie Rolls he always carried in his pocket for the children. Rocky gave back. He was a big supporter of the Boys and Girls Club, our veterans and the less fortunate. Rocky had a big heart full of love.
Rocky was the rock of my mayoral campaign. He worked tirelessly. I remember Rocky picking me up at 6 a.m. on election day 2002 and driving me from polling place to polling place until the polls closed at 7 p.m. Buddy, you may be gone, but you’re not forgotten. I love ya, man. RIP.
