My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many young entrepreneurs at the Fountain Hills Farmer’s Market in late September. In a world where many children are fastened to their iPhones or computer games, it was refreshing to interact with a few that have channeled their time and energy into becoming startup business owners.
We could tell they had spent a great deal of time preparing their wares. One girl we met said she had taken a whole week off homeschool to get ready. Her mom clarified this was her schoolwork for the week. Each child brought a unique personality to their booth. They were engaging and professional, asking questions and demonstrating how their merchandise worked.

That kind of character only comes from a child that has been prioritized and loved. And I appreciate the investment the parents have made in their children’s futures.
Having been recognized as an entrepreneur of the year back in my teens, I know how difficult but rewarding it is to run your own business. I expect this show will be the start of a lifelong journey of success for these children as well.
If you couldn’t make it last time, I encourage you to plan on seeing the young entrepreneurs at Art on the Avenue Nov. 22.
