C.S. Lewis said, “You are never too told to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”
I accepted the philosophy that if I worked hard, kept my nose clean, gave my children a better start than I had and gave back to my community and society, that one day I could relax and retire.

C.S. Lewis said, “You are never too told to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”
I accepted the philosophy that if I worked hard, kept my nose clean, gave my children a better start than I had and gave back to my community and society, that one day I could relax and retire.
However, today’s society does not allow me to relax in my retirement or, for that matter, even afford it.
I shudder to think of the knowledge, experience, technical aptitude, etc. that is going unused. Our role in American history created an unyielding strength and wealth accumulation created through economic freedom, inventive genius, courage and a willingness to work hard.
Many times I’ve thought, “Boy, could that situation use a person with experience or someone who was actually there.”
It seems more valuable than reading a book by someone who has never been on the firing line or in the field. Imagine if our education system utilized the wealth of knowledge in the retired community. How do you replace the actual feelings, thoughts, suffering, joy and, most important, the motivation that results in success and a belief in yourself?
Does anyone truly believe that the problems of today would have been allowed to happen on our watch? Of course not, because they didn’t.
We still have wisdom to offer, knowledge to teach, life experiences to share. We must re-activate ourselves so those who follow us will not have to start over or right some of the same battles.
We’ve helped build the most significant country in history. So the question I have for you is this. Do you feel there is more you would like to do? Well, what’s stopping you? You’re needed by your country. Again.
