Homecoming set for next week

With the fall season fast approaching, Fountain Hills High School is gearing up for it homecoming week, which starts Monday, Sept 24.

The festivities kick off on Sept. 24 with the powderpuff flag football tournament between grade levels at the high school football field. The championship game will be played Wednesday evening, Sept. 25.

Wednesday, Sept. 26, also marks the day of the homecoming parade. The parade starts at 6 p.m. with staging beginning at 5. The parade will start at Verde River Drive and make its way toward the fountain. Then the parade will travel up Saguaro and stop at the main stage in the middle of downtown. The community is invited to come out, enjoy the show and cheer on the local teams, clubs and organizations participating in the parade.

All sports and clubs will march in the parade. No public float submissions are being taken this year.

The homecoming game will be Friday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. against American Leadership Academy. The cheer team and marching band will perform during halftime, alongside the royalty announcement.
