Lutheran Spring Gala held in Fountain Hills

Wild West themed event support Jacob’s Hope

In March, the Ladies in Fellowship Together (LIFT) women’s group at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church held its annual spring gala.

Guests participated in a chili-tasting contest and voted for their three favorite chili. A total of 11 chili recipes were entered and the winning recipe was prepared by Allan Ruby.

At the gala, attendees were decked out in western attire and everyone enjoyed the social hour, had their picture taken at the photo booth and had a good laugh seeing the skit, a press release read.

Shepherd of the Hills Pastor Jeff Teeples played the guitar and led the Western campfire sing-along, ending with “Happy Trails to You.”

Proceeds from the raffle were given to Jacob’s Hope, located in Mesa.

Jacob’s Hope is a specialty care nursery that provides 24-hour medical care to substance-exposed newborns and support to moms on the path to recovery and prenatal care to mothers in need.
