Fountain Hills School District is a gem in Maricopa County. Known for dedicated teachers, small classes, individual attention, variety of classes, high scoring on AZMerit at all levels, excellent record of success in Advanced Placement exams, EVIT, all-day kindergarten, winning sports teams and much more. All this is possible because of outstanding local support.
Tax overrides approved by taxpayers provide financial support to maintain these programs. The current override is approaching its limit of seven years; a new override must be approved by voters. The expiring override is for 13 percent, the requested new override is for 15 percent.
The areas targeted for use of these funds, if approved, are: Maintain all-day kindergarten; provide teacher salary increases; provide professional development; hire additional staff for reading literacy support; financially reward staff for outstanding performance; and enable the district to maintain its outstanding award-winning programs
