Barry Dean Halla, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home in Rio Verde on March 5, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer.

A cherished son, protective and supportive brother, and beloved uncle, Barry was foremost a true servant of God and a witness of His love. Barry’s love for his Lord and Savior was at the forefront of everything he did.

His legacy is highlighted by his 20-year dedication to development and management of Terrell Senior Terraces in Terrell, Texas, providing high quality, low income senior housing as a vehicle for spreading his love for people and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Barry is an alumnus of Westside High School and University of Nebraska, Omaha, as well as Army training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Dean Halla, and mother, Frances S. Halla. He is survived by brothers Bob, (Tennessee) and Bill, and nephew Christian, (Tennessee), Brian and Carolyn, (nee Simmons), niece, Tiffany (Nick) Colonna, great niece and nephew, Gabriel and Abigail Colonna, niece Alison Halla,(California) and Heidi Halla Undberg, Ellice (Anders) Chelgren, (Minnesota).

The family wishes to share our deep, heartfelt thanks for the excellent caregivers at Eckstein Hospice of the Valley and our amazing home caregivers, Monica, Shanna, Alicia R. and, last but not least, Alicia B. who gave tirelessly and lovingly.

Barry requested that there be no formal funeral service. Anyone wishing to acknowledge him may send contributions to: Life Rebuilders Inc., 16810 E. Avenue of Fountains, #212, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268.

All donations will go toward The Barry Halla Memorial Golf Tournament to raise funds to research colon and peritoneal cancers. The first annual tournament will be held in March of 2020.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
