After nearly 20 years, the Chamber of Commerce wants to update its present office building.
“We have transformed our technology, branding and services, now it’s time for our building to reflect the organization we are today and will be for the next 10 to 20 years,” said Chamber CEO Scott Soldat-Valenzuela.
The 4,500 square foot, two-story building is located at 16837 E. Palisades Blvd., corner of N. Verde River Drive.

Proposals are due by Dec. 14. A construction schedule calls for the selection of an architect by Jan. 21 and final design plans by the end of January.
A contract is expected to be chosen by Feb. 28 with construction to begin in March or April. Target date for completion is June or July.
The Chamber had considered relocating to Park Place but decided last April to remain at the present location and renovate the building.
At that time, Soldat-Valenzuela said, “Sometimes the best home is the one you are in. We looked at several options but found more advantages to staying put with major upgrades and continuing to own our own piece of Fountain Hills.”
The Chamber’s goal is to create a contemporary look and feel with an emphasis on clean design lines, large windows and flexible space.
The building now is limited for member events, networking visitors and staff. The idea would be to redesign the space to allow for more member events and usage, community groups and a visitor center.
Financing would occur through a commercial loan.
The structure, built in 1998, was paid off in 2005.
