Fountain Hills Republicans hear from several speakers

Eulogy held in memory of Charlie Kirk

The Fountain Hills Republican Club (FHRC) heard from several speakers, including Ben Labaree, a longtime member of Turning Point, Congressman David Schweikert and Political satirical author Loren Spivack.

Larrabee gave a eulogy in memory of Charlie Kirk. Larrabee is married to another member of Turning Point, Councilwoman Hannah Larrabee, and shared how his exposure to Kirk had changed his life, said spokesperson Chris Brant.

The club then heard from Congressman David Schweikert, who said the Department of Government Efficiency estimated that for every $1 the Internal Revenue Service will take in receipts, the government will still spend $1.43. Total revenue in 2026 will be $5.1 trillion, but total spending is forecast to be $7.3 trillion.

Brant says “hard decisions” need to be made in Washington because the U.S. won’t be able to grow out of this situation.

Political satirical author Loren Spivack also spoke, bringing a number of examples of his works with him. He spoke about the Ten Commandments, Republican support for free speech, small government and illegal immigration.

“Loren Spivack gave attendees much to think about,” Brant said.

The FHRC will hold its annual club picnic Saturday, Oct. 18. Sign up at fountainhillsrepublicanclub.com. For more details about the picnic and the Fountain Hills Republican Club, visit Facebook.com/FountainHillsRepublicanClub/.
