Fountain Hills to continue ALPR camera discussion

Council to seek input from MCSO

The Town of Fountain Hills is moving forward with its discussion on automated license plate reading cameras following the town council’s Oct. 20 meeting.

The council gave direction to further talks on the subject with Councilmembers Peggy McMahon, Rick Watts and Brenda Kalivianakis seeking input from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

A proposed ordinance for ALPR cameras, which was brought forth by Councilman Allen Skillicorn in September, was tabled for further discussion during the council’s Oct. 6 meeting. There are currently no ALPR cameras in town limits.
