On Friday, Nov. 29, our Fountain Hills Theater will present “A Christmas Carol: The Musical.” I’m sure everyone reading this has seen the play, but have you seen the musical? Perhaps, but not this one. This is the world premier musical adaptation with words and music by Peter J. Hill and Jay Melberg.
The show runs until December 22 and this will surely get you in the holiday spirit. When I found out that Peter and Jay had written the score, I very quietly sat in the back during dress rehearsal Sunday night, so I could let you know before it opens.
Charles Dickens wrote it in 1843 and had this to say “I have endeavored in this ghostly little book, to raise the ghost of an idea, which shall not put my readers out of humor with themselves, with each other, with the season, or with me. May it haunt their houses pleasantly, and no one wish to lay it. Their faithful Friend and Servant, C.D.”

Even Dickens could not foresee the popularity of his ghostly little book, but be not dismayed, take the kids…they will love it and probably know some of the cast. It is great fun and I will be there opening night to see it again.
I’ll write it up again, but believe me it doesn’t get any better than seeing Peter in a night cap and Ross as the Ghost of Christmas Present.
For tickets, call 837-9661. See you at the theater.
