This October, Downtown Gilbert will show off fall color and host fun activities for all ages during the month-long Harvest in the Heritage District celebration. Family Nights at Harvest in the Heritage District presented by Earnhardt San Tan Hyundai and Felix Construction: Gilbert Parks & Recreation will host a series of free, family-friendly events every Thursday evening in October near Heritage Marketplace. The series kicks off with ¡Viva! A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage on Oct. 3. Additional programming will include a concert, variety show and spooky magic show. Complete details online. Fall Harmonies Installation at Heritage Marketplace: Human-powered fun is back this year from Le Monde Studios. Guests can expect a ten-foot-tall banjo, a 9-foot-tall violin and returning this year is the popular guitar-shaped slide – featuring 18 feet of fun with a new tunnel added for little ones! All installations feature sounds of the season. Installations will be located in the pocket park at Heritage Marketplace, west of Barrio Queen (388 N Gilbert Rd). Community Mural Event at Gilbert Mural Pocket Park: On Sat., Oct. 5 the community is encouraged to grab a paint brush and join local artist Camila Ibarra as they create a mural reflecting cultural celebrations from across the globe. Check in begins at 9 a.m. The mural will remain on display throughout the month of October. Located south of #39 American Legion (206 N Gilbert Rd).
