Hooks and Needles in Fountain Hills donate to Navajo Nation

Social group donates nearly 200 hand-knitted items

Every year, members of the Hooks and Needles group in Fountain Hills knit mittens, scarves, sweaters, blankets and hats and donate them to a worthy cause.

This year, Hooks and Needles donated nearly 200 knitted items to the Navajo Nation.

“It’s a cold area,” Jane Minihan said, who was tasked by Hooks and Needles to make the trip north and make the donation. “Fifty percent of the Navajo tribe doesn’t have electric or running water.”
