As many as 1,000 Valley residents protested the evening of Feb. 3 in and near downtown Chandler in response to recent actions and statements by President Trump.
Carrying signs ranging from “Nadie es ilegal en tierra robada” (nobody is illegal on stolen land) to signs urging the government to avoid separating families or to not “bite the hand that feeds,” referencing Latino prominence in food industries, protestors gathered early in the evening on the corners of Arizona Avenue and Pecos Road, among other places.
Many carried signs; others carried U.S. or Mexico flags or altered hybrids, with some vehicles playing music that often had Spanish vocals.
