More than 50 years after being introduced to the world, Jazzercise remains as popular as ever.
Now, the local Jazzercise Fountain Hills is taking its dance workouts closer to town, relocating from East Shea Boulevard to the Executive Suites on the Avenue of the Fountains where patrons can shop, work, play and now exercise right downtown.
Located in Suite 106, the owner of Jazzercise Fountain Hills, Dana Rowe, is overseeing a full renovation of the 2,000 sq. ft space including new vinyl plank flooring with extra cushion, a dedicated enclosed area for personal training and a spacious shower/changing room.
The new Jazzercise location also includes live-stream capabilities for those tuning in from home and an in-floor assistive listening technology from OTOjOY which amplifies sound around the dance floor for those with varying ranges of hearing.
A childcare option will be available come January, Rowe said, who is eager to start leading classes at the new studio on opening day, Wednesday, Oct. 4. The grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 7, and from Oct. 9-15, an open house invites friends and family to join for a free week of Jazzercise classes.
The decision to move downtown was based on Rowe’s desire to increase visibility for the longstanding fitness center.
“So many people didn’t know where we were,” she said.
Being near the hustle and bustle of town is important for the business, Rowe said. As a fitness studio that is especially popular among women, she added that being near hair and nail salons, massage therapists and aesthetic studios makes the Avenue the perfect place for Jazzercise, but makes sure to note that everyone can enjoy the benefits of dance and cardio.
Rowe moved to town from England with her husband, James and took over ownership of Jazzercise Fountain Hills in 2021.
For newcomers, Rowe said Jazzercise has an ongoing new customer special that is two weeks for $49 and invites the community to try it out.
“Cardio, sculpt and stretch are the three class types that we integrate into our program with low-impact options available,” Rowe said, “It’s cardio dance but it’s designed for all fitness levels.”
Jazzercise is now located at 16810 E. Avenue of the Fountains, Suite 106. To sign up for Jazzercise classes, visit momence.com/u/jazzercise-fountain-hills.
