The Fountain Hills Artists’ Gallery kicks off the 2023-2024 season with a new “Meet and Mingle” artist reception series the first Wednesday of the month, Nov. 1, from 5-7 p.m.
The community is invited to come rub shoulders with 10 artists showcasing a variety of mediums.
The artists representing the gallery will be Chris Demma, Jim Rapisarda, Margarete Ripps, Tammy Wentworth, Elizabeth Tucker, Nancy Grahlmann, Tim Gallegly, April Bower and Carrie Godwin. The featured artist for the evening reception and new to the gallery is Sandy Gatlin.
Gatlin specializes in abstract acrylics. She is inspired by two artists, Arlene Towne and Bonnie Miller.
“Through the use of color, texture, intuition and imagination, I am on my own abstract journey,” Gatlin said. She will give a brief presentation about herself and her art at the reception.
“We are so happy to have Sandy join our gallery,” Gallery Manager Margaret Sullivan, said. “We strive to have a variety of artistic mediums and the addition of an abstract artist have expanded our offerings to the art lovers in the world.”
The artists will prepare appetizers from the gallery cookbook and beverages will be available at the casual event. This is the community’s opportunity to meet the local artistic talent in their hometown at a relaxed social mixer, and the artists will be happy to visit with community members and discuss their chosen art forms and their creative process, all while sampling savory snacks, a press release said. Gallery cookbooks will be raffled at the event.
The Fountain Hills Artists’ Gallery has been serving Fountain Hills residents for more than 16 years and is considered a destination for shopping for fine art, jewelry and gifts. The gallery is owned and operated by the 30 artists who exhibit and sell their work daily.
