A Fountain Hills man reported more than 40 firearms stolen from his home in the 14000 block of N. Alamosa Circle on Friday, Feb. 26.
Sheriff’s deputies say the resident left his home for the evening and returned to find the residence had been broken into and ransacked.
The burglar apparently smashed their way in through a front entry door.
The homeowner provided deputies with a list of more than 40 weapons along with serial numbers. He told deputies he was planning to sell most of the collection.
*On Monday, Feb. 8, deputies investigated a two-vehicle collision on Saguaro Boulevard at El Lago Boulevard. A driver making a right turn from eastbound El Lago onto southbound Saguaro then attempted to change lanes and struck a second southbound vehicle. No one was injured.
*On Monday, Feb. 15, the owner of a barber shop in the 12000 block of N. Saguaro Boulevard reported someone had stolen his revolving barber pole sometime over the weekend. The pole is valued at $350.
*On Sunday, Feb. 21, a Rio Verde man was cited and released for criminal speed on Shea Boulevard near Technology Drive. Deputies say the man was travelling 68 miles per hour where the speed limit is 45.
*On Sunday, Feb. 21, deputies investigated a car/bicycle accident at Fountain Hills and El Pueblo boulevards. The bicyclist was traveling north on Fountain Hills Boulevard crossing El Pueblo when a west bound motorist collided with the rear of the bicycle. The driver checked on the welfare of the cyclist and left the scene after providing identification. The bicyclist was evaluated by fire department paramedics and released at the scene. The motorist returned to the scene when called by deputies.
*On Tuesday, Feb. 23, a Fountain Hills couple reported they were notified by the IRS that someone had used their identification to file a fraudulent tax return.
*On Monday, Feb. 22, a father and son engaged in a physical confrontation at a residence in the 25000 block of N. 164th Street. The two were arguing over the son selling a dirt bike.
*On Sunday, Feb. 21, deputies were called to the 14000 block of E. Smokehouse Trail for two neighbors arguing. The argument was over whether the son of a couple had been driving recklessly along the country road. There were no arrests.
*On Tuesday, Feb. 23, a resident of the 16000 block of E. Oxford Drive reported someone had attempted to break into their home. The suspects caused $500 damage to a sliding door and a kitchen window.
*On Tuesday, Feb. 23 a Fountain Hills resident was notified by the IRS that an unknown person had filed a fraudulent tax return using their personal identification.
*On Monday, Feb. 22, a Fountain Hills woman reported someone had used her business bank card to make purchases out of state.
*On Wednesday, Feb. 24, a Mesa man working at a Fountain Hills assisted living facility was arrested for fraudulently using the credit card of an 88-year-old resident of the facility. The suspect told deputies he used the card to pay traffic fines.
*On Wednesday, Feb. 24, a deputy following up on a Text-A-Tip received by the school resource officer cited a Scottsdale juvenile male for minor possession of alcohol.
*On Tuesday, Feb. 23, a Fountain Hills woman reported her identity was stolen by an unknown person.
*On Wednesday, Feb. 24, a Fountain Hills man reported someone unknown had stolen his identification.
*On Thursday, Feb. 25, a Fountain Hills man reported someone had stolen his vehicle from the 16000 block of Avenue of the Fountains.
*On Friday, Feb. 26, a Paradise Valley woman reported an electronic tablet had been stolen from her near Avenue of the Fountains and Verde River Drive.
