Ludicrous idea

Why would anyone want to turn our beautiful Fountain Park area into an amusement park, A.K.A. wet and wild open to the public park?

The only people that would do well are the banker, realtor, developer and architect.

We the citizens would get stuck with millions of dollars of cost and many years to come of maintenance, overhead, insurance and lawsuits.

Can you imagine comparing Lake Havasu City, the armpit of Arizona, to Fountain Hills. Have you ever been there? Most of the lake has been said to be polluted. That’s why they needed a pool. They are overrun with spring breakers, cars and traffic that also brings crime and destruction.

What happened to the beautification program of the park? What’s next bumper cars, a bungee jump?

Do we not have more important things to do with municipal bonds? How about the millions needed to repair the rest of our roads? Our schools are always in need of more money. Services for the elderly. Save the $20,000 from the consultant fee for the aquatic park, and use it to pave the pot holes by my house.

Can you imagine Paradise Valley or DC Ranch allowing a water park, they would run these guys out of town.

Families do not move to towns because they have a public pool. First they look at the schools, location, then safety, doctors, dentists, cleanliness and civic pride. Taxes, shopping for the necessities, cost of housing. Who wants to live next to a shopping mall or wet and wild park? Our town has plenty of sports, recreation and programs for our kids.

Where does it say in our Constitution and Bill of Rights that the government must entertain its citizens?

Want to raise your kids right? Spend your time with them.
