MCO Realty sold

Steve Vargo has become president and owner of MCO Realty, which he recently purchased from MCO Properties, a subsidiary of Maxxam, the parent company in Houston.

MCO Properties, the master developer of Fountain Hills, will continue to market Eagles Nest and Adero Canyon custom home site communities.

Local ownership will only streamline and enhance the company’s, and sales executives’ abilities to respond to and service past, current and future customers, said Vargo.

“Moving forward,” said Vargo, “we will continue to be the hometown real estate company with global reach. Most of our agents live in Fountain Hills and actively participate in the array of varied activities the community offers.”

“From a marketing standpoint, we invest more in our advertising outreach than any other Fountain Hills real estate firm. Going forward, our plans are to continue those initiatives with our residential, commercial and custom lot expertise.”

The results speak for themselves, said Vargo. Sales have totaled more than $2.3 billion since 2000.

MCO presently has more than 40 full-time sales professionals operating out of four Fountain Hills’ locations: The main office is the landmark Welcome Center at the corner of Shea and Saguaro Blvd.; the main entrance to FireRock Country Club; Eagles Nest, and Adero Canyon.

Vargo relocated from his home state of Michigan – where he spent his first 14 years in real estate – to join MCO Realty as an agent in 1992.

For the past 25 years, he has served as an agent, sales manager and vice president/designated broker.

He has been instrumental in helping shape the hometown charm of Fountain Hills while working to preserve the town’s natural beauty.

In his own words, Vargo said “Fountain Hills is a truly beautiful place to live. You could almost say it has sold itself over the years. But, it takes quite a bit more than great scenery to sell a successful community.”

“Ultimately, I think you have to give credit where it’s due. We’ve got a great group of exceptional, customer-oriented sales executives who really know what they’re doing – and who really mean it when they say ‘Expect Excellence.’ ”

Vargo and his wife, Yvonne, raised their two sons in town. Steve Jr. is closely following his father’s lead after obtaining his real estate license in April 2016.

You can visit Vargo at MCO Realty’s main office, 9617 E. Saguaro Blvd., or call him at 480-837-2500.
