Richard Rauter

Richard E. Rauter, 75, passed away Jan. 11, 2014. A visitation was held Monday, Jan. 13, and a memorial service Tuesday, Jan. 14, at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, Kansas City.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Richard was born Jan. 10, 1939 to Richard L. and Loretta Rauter. He grew up in the Kansas City, Kan. area and throughout his life lived in Kansas City and Overland Park, Kan. and Fountain Hills.

Richard graduated from Washington High School and joined the United States Army. He was a member of Christ the King Parish.

During his life, he worked at General Motors, TWA and Prairie Life Fitness. Richard was a member of the American Legion. He loved KU basketball, dancing and playing ping pong.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Richard L. Rauter and Loretta Rauter, and brother, William Rauter. He leaves behind to cherish his memory a brother, Tim (Barbara) Rauter; sons, Richard (Barbara) Snitker, Brian (Becky) Rauter, Kevin Rauter and Jason (Mary Lynn) Rauter; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
