Time is running short to get tickets, sponsorships, program ads and auction item donations for the Fountain Hills Women’s Club 50th anniversary “Gold in Them Hills” Gala Luncheon and Fashion Show.

The event is Saturday, March 9, at We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort. The deadline for businesses and organizations to become a sponsor for this event or to take out an ad in the event program is Friday, Feb. 23.

Feb. 23 is also the deadline for donations of items to be included in the silent and live auctions for the fundraiser, the proceeds of which go to providing scholarships for women, age 23 or older, in the local community to continue their education and to two graduating seniors from Fountain Hills High School.

The deadline to purchase tickets for the event is Tuesday, March 5.

Tickets are $75 per person for club members and guests, with attendees to include both women and men from throughout the area.

The Women’s Club’s only scholarship fundraiser each year is always a springtime luncheon and fashion show, but this year’s celebration is expected to be truly special to mark the club’s golden anniversary, with five decades as a social and service volunteer organization, according to a press release.

TV personality Cory McCloskey will serve as the guest emcee and provide a standup comedy routine for the audience.

Local boutique Classy-Jazzy will present a fashion show, with a portion of purchases made after the event by attendees who visit the shop going back to benefit the Women’s Club.

Guests can enjoy a hot plated luncheon, a cash bar, prizes in the silent and live auctions and a 50/50 cash raffle.

All of this is held against a video backdrop with images from the Fountain Hills Women’s Club’s long history and impact on the town of Fountain Hills.

According to a press release, the Fountain Hills Women’s Club was a primary benefactor for the construction of the Fountain Hills Community Center and a contributor to the Fountain Hills Library Association, the development of the Fountain Hills Botanical Garden, the establishment of mail delivery for certain streets in the early days of the town and a supporter of many other community organizations.
