Two Pacific weather systems will impact the Phoenix area through the weekend into the early next week.
The first system will arrive Thursday into Thursday night leading to most areas seeing some rain, but only light to moderate amounts (0.10 – 0.50”).
A stronger and longer duration storm will then move in later Friday into Saturday afternoon. Higher moisture levels and a longer period of rain should result in widespread rainfall amounts of over 0.50” with up to 2” across the higher terrain north and east of Phoenix.

A strong cold front moving through the area Friday evening and early Friday night could bring strong wind gusts of 30-40 mph coinciding with the heaviest period of rainfall.
Snow levels will fall to 4500-5000 feet Friday night, likely resulting in significant snow accumulations over higher elevations and hazardous driving conditions.
Conditions will improve for Sunday, but rain is back in the forecast for Monday into Tuesday.
