At its Thursday meeting the Town Council needed to approve an emergency expenditure of $100,000 to complete crack seal work on streets in the northwest corner of town.
Cactus Asphalt, the contractor working on the sealing project prior to a slurry seal application, found there were too many large cracks in the streets to complete the work as specified in the original agreement.

Crack seal shortfall
Posted
At its Thursday meeting the Town Council needed to approve an emergency expenditure of $100,000 to complete crack seal work on streets in the northwest corner of town.
Cactus Asphalt, the contractor working on the sealing project prior to a slurry seal application, found there were too many large cracks in the streets to complete the work as specified in the original agreement.
Development Services Director Paul Mood told the council it was found that the cracks were too numerous and too deep to be completed under the original contract.
Once the crack sealing is completed Southwest Slurry will begin work, which is scheduled to begin on May 13.
