When reading a brief news article a few years ago, local author Denise Forsythe learned about a rare occurrence in the reproductive process that she’d never heard of before.

Heteropaternal-superfecundation occurs when a woman gives birth to twins with different biological fathers.

An avid mystery writer with an eye for intricate storylines, when Forsythe began researching more about this rare condition, she decided to make it the crux of her first domestic suspense novel.
