Nichols: Who supported this major residential development in Scottsdale?

Posted

In 2023 the population of Scottsdale was over 243,000.

This population depends on the Colorado River for roughly 90 percent of our water, yet the Colorado River is drying up.

If you were on the Scottsdale City Council, would you approve large developments of condos and rentals, bringing potentially tens of thousands of new population to Scottsdale?

In the past millennia, historically large populations of indigenous people in the southwest were forced to migrate numerous times because of water shortages. Will we also face the same alternative? Why then have several city council members repeatedly approved continual developments of large condos and rentals? Are they jeopardizing our lives by potentially risking our water supply?

This also changes the character of Scottsdale by cramming the city with large developments. Take a look around Scottsdale. These developments are everywhere.

Which city council members have supported this? Tom Durham and Tammy Caputi. Both are heavily financed by developers.
