Sonoran Conservancy of Fountain Hills is hosting a new season of events for hiking and outdoor enthusiasts.

Join a bird sighting and identification hike at the Fountain Hills Desert Botanical Garden on Fountain Hills Boulevard Wednesday, Oct. 18, beginning at 7:30 a.m. until 9 a.m.

A stargazing hike under a first quarter moon is set for Saturday, Oct. 21.
Vicky Derksen of Night Sky Tourist and the Fountain Hills Dark Sky Association will lead the hike along with SCFH Board Member Janice Holden. The event is at the Adero Canyon Trailhead from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

There may be the opportunity to view a planet or two from the solar system as well as identify constellations far out in the galaxy.

An education session on “What’s in my Pack,” featuring how to prepare and have important items to hike safely in the desert, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 25. The event is at the Adero Canyon Trailhead ramada from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
