The community is invited to the next Fountain Hills Artists’ Gallery weekly demonstration on Tuesday, Dec. 12.

The featured artist for this event is abstract artist Sandy Gatlin who has been surrounded by talented artists her entire life including her father, husband and son.

“I was an art major in high school and college, however, a wonderful life came with priorities: raising my kids, a career in the medical world and now the time for creating art is in my retirement years,” Gatlin said. “Pure joy is in a tube of paint.

“Happiness happens on a finished canvas. A few years ago, inspired by two great abstract artists, Arlene Towne and Bonnie Miller, I found my joy and my happiness at the end of a palette knife. Through the use of color, texture, intuition and imagination, I am on my own abstract journey.”

The gallery is located at 16858 E. Avenue of the Fountains and is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
