FH Photo Club meets Wednesday, Oct. 11
The Fountain Hills Photo Club is holding its club meeting Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 5:30 p.m. in the FH Community Center. Anyone with an interest in photography is invited to attend.
The meeting will address the 2023-2024 year for the club which will include the use of both classic digital cameras and smartphones, aimed at enhancing photographer picture quality and ease of use through timely tutorials and periodic photoshoots.
Watch Monday Night Football at Post 58
The American Legion Post 58 will host Monday Night Football Monday, Oct. 16, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., when the Los Angeles Chargers host the Dallas Cowboys.
As a special treat, a $10 chicken dinner will be available for purchase provided by Mountain View Kitchen in Fountain Hills.
Post 58 is located at 16837 Parkview Ave. This event is open to the public, and all are invited to attend.
Watch and Clock gather on Oct. 14
The Valley of the Sun Chapter 112 of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors will hold its monthly meeting Saturday, Oct. 14, at 9 a.m., at the Community Center, 13011 N. La Montana Drive.
The public is invited to attend and enjoy the program, “Electricity and Battery Operated Clocks” by Pat Fitzgerald. Come learn, share and enjoy the study of Horology (the science of timekeeping). For additional information contact Mike Wilson at 480-816-6483.
American Legion Post 58 hosts weekly events
American Legion Post 58 hosts weekly events that are open to the public, including Bingo every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. On Friday, Oct. 13, Mike and Suzie will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, Oct. 14, a steak dinner is provided from 5 to 7 p.m. for $15 per plate followed by a performance by the Cheap Lunch Band from 6 to 9 p.m. The community is invited to attend.
Events are held at the American Legion Post 58, 16837 E. Parkview Ave.
Community Center Contract Bridge winners posted
Contract bridge is played every Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Community Center. Membership in the Community Center is required to participate.
Winners from Sept. 29 include Mike Lemonidis in first place, Don Butler in second place and Max Love in third place.
Rotary Club hosts speaker
The Fountain Hills Rotary Club begins its speaker series Tuesday, Nov. 7, when David A. Dexter, president and chief executive officer of Sonora Quest Laboratories will speak.
Held at the American Legion Post 58, 16837 E. Parkview Ave., the Rotary Club of Fountain Hills meets at 4 p.m. every first and third Tuesday of the month.
Take Off Pounds Sensibly welcomes newcomers
Anyone looking for weight-loss support and to start or continue their journey of weight-loss is invited to join TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) Fountain Hills chapter every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Chapter meetings are held at Joy Church, 13430 N. Saguaro Blvd. Use the front entrance of the church and follow the signs.
Al-Anon holds regular meetings
Al-Anon family meetings are held each Saturday from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in the classroom building.
The only requirement to attend is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Attendees will find hope as members share their experiences, strength and hope.
