The Cultural and Civic Association will present a 2013 election informational forum Tuesday, Sept. 24, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the School District Learning Center.
The General Election Tuesday, Nov. 5, will have questions for a bond authorization for Saguaro Boulevard improvements, and the FHUSD is asking for a capital bond and permission to exceed its maintenance and operations budget.
The moderator for the forum will be Boyce Baldwin, FHCCA president.
From 7 to 7:40 p.m. the topic will be the town’s street bond proposition.
The town is seeking approval of bonds for total reconstruction of Saguaro Boulevard.
A presentation on the scope of work and location will be made by Paul Mood, P.E, director of Development Services for the town.
Questions from the audience will be directed to panelists Bob Thomson, chairman of Citizens 4 Saguaro, and former Mayor Jerry Miles, committee treasurer, Citizens 4 Saguaro.
Questions to be addressed will be those submitted prior to the forum in the order that they were submitted. Questions from the floor will follow, time permitting.
From 7:45 p.m. to 8:25 p.m., the FHUSD capital bond and override election will be addressed.
The School District is seeking authorization to issue bonds and to exceed its maintenance and operations budget by 13 percent of the revenue control limit.
Presentation of the School District’s requirements and need for funding from the bonds and operation override will be made by Jim Dickey, chairman of the citizens committee supporting the school measures.
He and Dwight Johnson, also a committee member, will answer questions on the School Board requests.
Questions that were submitted prior to the forum will be answered in the order they were submitted; questions from the floor will follow.
