Fountain Hills poinsettia tree celebrates 25 years

The 2023 Live Poinsettia Tree Display will be back on the Avenue of the Fountains for the annual Stroll in the Glow event Saturday, Dec. 2, and throughout the holiday season.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Poinsettia Tree and the seventh year it is being organized by members of the Fountain Hills Leadership Academy class.

The Poinsettia Tree Project is a program of I Love Fountain Hills, also known as the Fountain Hills Cultural and Civic Association (FHCCA). The Leadership Academy volunteers  bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the project, according to Project Director Mike Pameditis. This year’s co-chairs from Class Seven of the Leadership Academy are Frank Colella, Lee Holmes, Toni LoPoer, Carleen Watts and Rick Watts.

Members of the community are invited to order a poinsettia plant to display in honor of a special person or in memory of a loved one who has passed. The names of both the donor and the honoree will be displayed next to the tree, which will be available for viewing beginning Saturday, Dec. 2.

The tree will be maintained throughout the holiday season by the Town of Fountain Hills Parks Department.

Poinsettias are $15 each for members of FHCCA or $20 each for non-members. Orders can only be placed online at iLoveFountainHills.org/poinsettia-tree using a credit card or PayPal.

If assistance is needed in placing an order, call Mike Pameditis at 480-707-8777.

The order deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 21. Verde Valley Nursery in Fountain Hills is providing this year’s poinsettias.

Poinsettia plant orders are tax-deductible donations as I Love Fountain Hills/FHCCA is a 501(c)3 organization.
