The Town Council has scheduled a closed executive session prior to its regular meeting Thursday, Sept. 19, to discuss the position's future status.

The position is one of three with the town that are council appointed, town manager and town attorney being the other two.

Town Manager Ken Buchanan said the council should discuss whether the presiding judge needs to remain a full-time position. The case load for the court is declining.
