Judge Eisenberg resigns FH Court
Judge Mitchell Eisenberg
Posted
Judge Mitchell Eisenberg has resigned his position as presiding judge for the Fountain Hills Municipal Court effective Oct. 13.
Eisenberg has accepted a position as a prosecutor with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. Previous to coming to Fountain Hills he had worked as a prosecutor with the Pima County Attorney’s Office for nine years.
Eisenberg was appointed presiding judge for Fountain Hills in November 2010.
The Town Council has scheduled a closed executive session prior to its regular meeting Thursday, Sept. 19, to discuss the position's future status.
The position is one of three with the town that are council appointed, town manager and town attorney being the other two.
Town Manager Ken Buchanan said the council should discuss whether the presiding judge needs to remain a full-time position. The case load for the court is declining.
