The Fountain Hills Republican Club (FHRC) has announced that U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake will join the list of Republican candidates that plan to attend the club picnic Saturday, Sept. 21, at Golden Eagle Park from 1 to 3 p.m.

Nearly every Republican who will appear on the ballot in Fountain Hills will be present, according to the club’s Program Chair Boe James.

Other Republican candidates who have indicated they intend to be present include U.S. Representative David Schweikert, Corporation Commission candidates Lea Marquez-Peterson and Rachel Walden, State Senator candidate John Kavanagh, State Representative candidates Joseph Chaplik and Alex Kolodin, Maricopa County Sheriff candidate Jerry Sheridan, County School Superintendent candidate Shelli Boggs, County Recorder candidate Justin Heap and County Assessor candidate Eddie Cook.

Also in attendance will be Fountain Hills mayoral candidate Gerry Friedel, Town Council candidates Rick Watts and Matt Corrigan, FHUSD School Board candidates Rich Rutkowski and Kim Duckworth, current Town Council candidates Hannah Toth, Brenda Kalivianakis and recently elected Town Council candidate Gayle Earle.

The FHRC picnic is an opportunity to meet and talk with Republican candidates on a one-to-one basis. According to James, several candidates will have tents with literature and yard signs.

The picnic will be held at the Saguaro Ramada at Golden Eagle Park,  15900 E. Golden Eagle Blvd.

The cost to attend is $17 per person (children under 12 are free) which covers the cost of soft drinks, hot dogs, hamburgers and fixings.
