Marcia Fry Krane, 90, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away July 14, 2024.

Marcia was born October 13, 1933, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Bill and Elsa (Welcker) Fry. A graduate of Fairfield High School, she earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa. In 1954, she married Robert Krane of Fairfield, Iowa, and shared more than 60 years of marriage, living in Germany, West Des Moines, IA, Omaha, NE, Edina, MN, Denver, CO, and Rio Verde, AZ.

Marcia was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, PEO, T.T.T. Society and served on the board of ArtReach Denver. She was also active as a Camp Fire Girls volunteer for many years. Marcia was friendly with all who crossed her path, always ready to turn a stranger into a friend. Time spent with friends, and especially family, was a priority for her. Those who knew and loved her remember her passion for cats and cookies; her quick wit and unending sense of humor; her enthusiasm for acquiring cherished collectibles; her puzzle prowess; and her love of family. Her husband, Bob, dubbed her ‘the lady who made all the fun’ and she was!

Marcia is missed and survived by her children Chris Payne (Anne Scott), Kristin (Steve) Hansen, Alan (Heidi) Krane, Kathi (Chris) Rank, Andy (Amy) Krane; grandchildren Gwen Edwards, Eric Scott (Katherine), Alan Scott (Hannah), Kelly Scott, Nic Krane, Elisabeth (Phil) Burza, Jenny (Mike) Lang, Megan (Jake) Bowden, Grayson (Emerson Davis) Rank, and William Krane; step-grandchildren, Felicia Barge, Valerie (Jay) Swearingen, Nate (Heidi) Hansen, and Adam (Katie) Hansen; 14 great-grandchildren; and her cat, Mia.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bob Krane; parents, Bill and Elsa Fry; and brother, Bill (Doog) Fry.

The family is planning a remembrance gathering in Fairfield, IA, in the spring of 2025. The family wishes to thank Goshen Home Care and Ascend Hospice for caring and thoughtful end-of-journey care. The following are suggestions for those wishing to make a memorial donation:
