McGinn: Concerning the Sept. 17 meeting

Posted

Was I watching "The Twilight Zone" or living the life of Winston Smith in Fountain Hills recently? Unfortunately, it was the Fountain Hills Town Council meeting on Sept. 17.

Kalivianakis delivered a diatribe of nonsense including a nonsensical description of “realville” vs. “utopia.” What played out is the dystopian reality of certain council members. “Unveil the curtain from the social and political norms of the times when wrong is right for those who hold power; deception and travesty is close to bringing solace and TRUTH doesn't stand a chance.” (1984 by George Orwell).

A sin of omission is when we neglect to do what we know is right. James touches on an often-overlooked concept in his epistle to the first-century Christian Church. In James 4:17, he writes: “Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”

The 4,226 votes for Earle were the voice of the registered voters in Fountain Hills looking forward to her representing the town and because of the recent resignation, filling the vacancy now as an elected official.

Instead, three people disdained the 4,226 voters for 67 emails. Grima! And just who was Kalivianakis recruiting?

Are Dickey, McMahon and Kalivianakis Fountain Hills' new basket of deplorables?
