Outdoor market collects donations for hurricane relief

The Presby Pickin’s Flea Market returns for its third season Saturday, Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church (FHPC), 13001 N. Fountain Hills Blvd.

More than just a market, Presby Pickin’s has grown to become a beloved community event by raising awareness through its support of local organizations and non-profits, building a fun place to shop, eat, listen to music and creating a hub to connect with friends, according to a press release.

The market will take place on the first Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the following dates:

Nov. 2, Dec. 7, Feb. 1, March 1 and April 5.

The market announces the launch of its new Facebook page and the reintroduction of its Instagram page - both dedicated to promoting Presby Pickin’s Flea Market and showcasing its vendors.

Several food vendors will return including Arlene’s Sweet Treats who will be whetting appetites with her breakfast goodies, Fountain Hills Food Cart for lunch menu items, Yumi’s Coffee who brings Japanese coffee culture to Arizona (December) and Lumpia Queen for Filipino cuisine.

DJ Steve will spin tunes from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and live music from The Fountain Mystics will kick off their season debut beginning at the December Flea with a mix of country, folk and pop tunes from noon to 2 p.m.

Supporting those hit by Hurricane Helene

In light of the devastation and suffering caused by Hurricane Helene, Presby Pickin’s felt called to contribute to the recovery efforts by collecting donations to support Samaritan’s Purse which has launched a five-site response across four of the hardest-hit states.

To donate, visit fhpresbyterian.info/fleamarket, or stop by the flea market where a dedicated table will be set up for donations near the church tables in November.

FHPC accepts donations of household items, tools, children’s toys, jewelry, games and electronics for sale at Presby Pickin’s.

Drop off is now open and items are sold at the church tables nearby the volunteers wearing yellow aprons.

Proceeds benefit FHPC ministry projects as well as community initiatives. No furniture or clothing are accepted. Call the church office at 480-837-1763 to arrange a time. Donation receipts are available upon request.

Presby Pickin’s does not accept vendor-donated items on the day of the flea market.

Interested vendors can register online at fhpresbyterian.info/fleamarket to reserve parking spaces at $25 each. Vendors can add a table or a chair for an extra $5 each. The $25 fee includes all marketing and advertising efforts to ensure the success of the event.
