The 2024 annual meeting of the Rio Verde Community Association is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, in the Community Church of the Verdes sanctuary. All residents are encouraged to attend.

The guest speaker for the meeting will be Geologist Mike Nolan whose topic is “If Rocks Could Talk: Secrets of the Landscape.” Nolan will provide insights into how the rocks and landscape around Rio Verde came to be.

The meeting agenda also includes election of board members, remarks by the RVCA President Mark Ohlendorf plus Treasurer Trish Ugorowski’s financial report and review of the 2023 audit.

The slate of five candidates to be elected to the Board of Directors include Bobbie Craven, George McCone, Stephen McGuire, Drewellen Renschler and Tom Stegmann.

Vision 2035 Co-Chairs Barbara Baker and John Cole will provide a preview of their afternoon Community Presentation.

Vision 2035

At 3 p.m. on March 26, also at the Community Church of the Verdes sanctuary, the Rio Verde Vision 2035 committee will make a presentation to community residents.

Residents are encouraged to come and hear results of the survey (about 700 participants), the Focus Groups (with 50 participants) and the Work Group observations (about 20 participated).

Presenters will be Michelle Mace, founder M3B Consultancy, Vision 2035 Co-chairs Barbara Baker and John Cole and the Work Group Leaders Jill Arnold, Sue Ehinger, Hans Schols, Lisa Teraji, Margot Stoneberg and Frido Fridovich.

Rio Verde’s Vision 2035 project has been underway for more than a year,  supported jointly by the RVCA and RVCC (country club) demonstrating the importance of coordination and unity in planning the future of the community. It’s not a strategic plan, but rather a compilation of research and ideas for the two boards to use in forming strategic plans.
