Town buys fire engine

The Town Council May 2 approved $500,728 for a new fire engine for the Fountain Hills Fire Department. The contract was awarded to Crimson Fire, Inc. of South Dakota.
The new pumper will replace the engine purchased in 1999, which was housed at the Palisades Fire Station. It is expected to take about a year to complete assembly and deliver the new vehicle.
Fire Chief Scott LaGreca told the council he is pleased with the response to the process with six bidders submitting proposals.
"They were all very responsive and are all good companies," LaGreca said. "I'm very comfortable with our choice, I wanted to make sure we got this right for the town."
