Order of the Engineer

Posted

The Town of Fountain Hills Engineer David A. Janover, PE, will perform an Order of the Engineer Ceremony at the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) National Conference on Aug. 8.

The honor not only underscores Janover’s significant contributions to the field of engineering but also highlights the high caliber and professionalism of the Town’s employees, according to a release from NPSE.

Janover, who now serves as the chair of the Board of Governors of the Order of the Engineer, has a long-standing commitment to promoting ethical practices and professional licensure among engineers. Janover has performed this ceremony at the NSPE National Conference every year for the past 15 years. Notably, he had the honor of inducting his father, Leonard Janover, into the Order in Atlanta in 2017.

The Order of the Engineer is a national organization that fosters a spirit of pride and responsibility in the engineering profession. Established in 1970, it aims to bridge the gap between education and practice by emphasizing the importance of ethical behavior, accountability, and dedication to public service.

Janover has been an active advocate for the ethical practice and professional licensure of engineers throughout his career. Janover’s extensive background in civil engineering, coupled with his leadership roles, has enabled him to influence and mentor countless engineers.

Andy Whisler’s role and achievements

Adding to the town’s accolades, Assistant Town Engineer Andy Whisler, PE, has also taken an active role in the engineering community. Recently, Whisler assumed the position of president of the Arizona Chapter of NSPE. This achievement is a source of pride for Janover, who initially invited Whisler to join NSPE several years ago.

As the town continues to grow and develop, leadership from Janover and Whisler ensures that infrastructure projects are executed with the integrity and dedication.
