Cinemark’s Classic Series

If you’re looking to re-watch an old favorite or see a great film from 40 years ago on the silver screen for the first time, then Cinemark’s Classic Series might be just for you. Ask anyone what their favorite movie-watching experience is and there’s a pretty good chance their tale will revolve around a trip to the local cinema. There’s just something about watching a movie on the big screen that makes those experiences that much more memorable.

The trouble is that, after a movie runs its course and makes the transition to DVD/Blu-ray, your chances of seeing those flicks at the theater ever again likely shrink to zero. And then there are those movies you were simply never around to see when they first made it to the silver screen. There are loads of classic films I’d love the chance to see at the theater and, thanks to Cinemark’s ongoing series, I now have the opportunity to do exactly that.

Jaws is a movie I basically grew up on, though I wasn’t even around when the movie first released back in 1975. A couple of months ago, Jaws popped up in the Classic Series and I finally got to see a lifelong favorite of mine the way it was meant to be seen: Blown up larger than life and viewed with an audience of like-minded, excited movie-goers.

The list of classics are constantly changing, offering movies from just a couple of decades ago, all the way back to, say, Casablanca (1943). Speaking of Casablanca, that’s one of the current movies included in the ongoing lineup, alongside films like The Godfather, West Side Story, Forest Gump and American Beauty.

The cost of admission is the same as a regular movie and if you plan on watching all of a given series, you can even get a deep discount on the full set.
