Desert Stages continues shows in September
Posted
Cinderella continues On Stage of Scottsdale’s Desert Stages.
The Diary of Anne Frank opens Sept. 13 and continues through Oct. 20 in the Actor’s Café.
Gerry Cullity’s Cinderella: A Ragtime Musical is the first offering of On Stage, the new name for Desert Stage’s youth production. It continues through Sept. 22.
Cullity, who died in 2005, is honored each year by DST when one of his original productions is staged. The “On Stage” series was created to engage young actors from three to 19. The co-founder of DST, Cullity put his own spin on the classic story, setting it at the turn of 20th century during the height of immigration. The characters are those coming to the New World with dreams of starting a new life in a foreign land. The music is purely entertaining, and the script will delight audiences of every age. Tickets are $15.
The Diary of Anne Frank is a riveting play about a Jewish family hiding from the Gestapo in war-torn Amsterdam. Tickets are $25.
Tickets for both shows are available for purchase online at www.desertstages.org, or by phone at (480) 483-1664. They also may be purchased at the theater box office, 4720 N. Scottsdale Rd.
