Somo: Dickey and McMahon are two dynamic leaders

Posted

Throughout my 32-year career serving the community as a public school teacher and counselor, I also volunteered my time to serve on the boards of numerous professional and non-profit organizations, and I’ve continued to do so during retirement.

Because of my background and experience, I know engaged, effective leadership and governance when I see it. Although I have only lived in Fountain Hills for the past six years, I have been impressed with the smooth functioning of our Town Council, led by responsible, civic-minded citizens.

Fountain Hills has been fortunate to have Ginny Dickey at the helm and Peggy McMahon as a councilmember. Their expert leadership, integrity, dedication to duty and experience cannot be overrated as crucial qualities that have provided our town with the best governance possible. Fountain Hills is considered one of the most desirable places to live in Arizona. That doesn’t happen by accident. It occurs because of planning, foresight and implementation; three things at which these two dynamic leaders excel.

If we want our town to continue to be a great place to live, we need to keep Ginny Dickey as our mayor and Peggy McMahon on Town Council. Please vote for both by returning your early ballot to a polling place (Fountain Hills Community Center or Cornerstone Family Church) or voting in person at one of those locations on July 29 or 30. With their strong, proven leadership, Ginny and Peggy have earned your vote, and mine.
