Centering Prayer is the title of an introductory workshop hosted by Community Church of the Verdes and St. Dominic Mission, set for Saturday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Community Church of the Verdes chapel.
This workshop is open to anyone interested in learning about the power of prayer. The practice of silent prayer is an ancient Christian tradition and can lead to a deepening relationship with God, a press release said.
The workshop will be led by members of Contemplative Outreach based in Phoenix to provide participants with the tools for Centering Prayer and encourage daily practice.
The workshop is free, however, a donation of $20 is appreciated for the leaders and to provide refreshments during the workshop.
For more information or to register for the workshop, contact Karen Jurgens at nanajurgens@gmail.com, Betty Crisanti at bcris1027@gmail.com or Rachel Torrez at rtorrez@cox.net. Otherwise, those interested may contact Contemplative Outreach directly at contemplativeoutreach-phoenix.org.
The registration deadline for Centering Prayer register is Friday, Nov. 10.
Community Church of the Verdes is located at 25603 N. Danny Lane, Suite 1, in Rio Verde. For more information, visit verdefaith.org.
