William Shine

Bill Shine, 77, passed away on April 9, 2019 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Detroit, Mich., on Oct. 3, 1941. Dad was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to so many.

Bill served in the United States Navy from 1960-1964 where he met and married his beloved wife of 52 years, Jean. Bill and Jean lived in Fountain Hills for 18 years and he operated the Ameriprise Financial office as a financial planner.

Prior to 1991, Bill and Jean lived in Fort Dodge, Iowa, from 1971-1991 where they raised their two daughters, Debbie and Julie. Bill was the general manager and part owner of the Holiday Inn in Fort Dodge.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Jean; father, Marvin and mother, Irene. He is survived by his daughter, Julie and son-in-law, Jim Heaney; daughter, Debbie and son-in-law, Rick Toth and grandchildren, Hannah Toth and Mathew Heaney; brothers, Tom and Bruce; his special friend, Cleo and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at 2 p.m. at the American Legion Post 58 in Fountain Hills, Arizona. A burial service will be held in November to lay Bill and Jean Shine to rest together at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
