Villawatkins: Vote for leadership and integrity

Posted

Many have shied away from voting due to many reasons. Tenets like pursuit of happiness, and many more, now mean differently due to chaotic rhetoric. We need your votes. In this town, 25 votes can make a difference but over 900 voters did not vote last July.

Locally and nationwide, Republicans have endorsed Democrats this year. They may disagree with policy, but they did this as guardians of governance. It is not left or right anymore. It is a clarion call to vote for leadership and integrity.

Powered by vindictive rhetoric, our flag was used with spears to break the law on January 6. Our flag is displayed on trucks with expletives to spread fear, not just in our town, but nationwide. Use your vote to stop this division and chaos.

Someone in Fountain Hills called politics as a “bloodsport.” This is dangerous! My household was already threatened and stalked by a Fountain Hills resident. It only takes one person to act on hate. Thoughts and prayers will be too late when beguiled by hate. It was a good thing that I pre-empted it by filing an incident report with MCSO. MCSO parked unmarked cars on my street for days and updated me with their investigation. Still, I asked MCSO to do a wellness check.

Our vote is akin to ardent prayers for healing; for someone we love at the hospital. Nobody prays for hate at any hospital room or chapel. It may be the only moral compass guiding our votes, up and down the ballot.

This year’s vote, for our town, county, state and country, will stop chaos collaborators. We need your votes for law and order, hope and vision-focused service. This is why I support Ginny, Peggy and Clayton.
